Ceiling Drape–Determining Cost

What does it really take to re-create that scene you found? 

 

Being in the Wedding Industry, we are often asked about Ceiling Draping. Thanks to Pinterest and magazines, Brides are viewing these gorgeous photos and wanting to recreate it for their own wedding. They then call us and want to know the price for re-creating that magical scene.

What they don’t realize is there are many questions that need to be answered before a price can be given – What is the venue? How high is the ceiling?  What type of draping is wanted? How long you want the drape to be? Etc.

Here are a few of the details we have to consider before giving you a price:

What is your Venue?

More than likely, we have already decorated your venue in Greenville, SC before. What this means is we have their layouts with dimensions on file, we have experience on hanging drape from their ceilings, and we know how long it will take.

All the venues vary in ceiling height, type, and size; all factors that can make draping easier or harder. Venues with ceiling grids are the easiest. We can use ceiling clips or specialty magnets with hooks that are relatively perfect for this kind of hanging. Venues with a flat ceiling or little to hang from are harder.

What type of Draping do you want?

There are different types of draping which will require different amounts of fabric; they also vary in difficulty of hanging. Pricing will also depend on how much of the ceiling will you want to cover. You can do a small section over the dance floor or cover the whole ceiling to give it a dramatic effect. Take a look at a few of different ceiling drapes we have done.

If you are lucky, some venues allow us to come in the day before to set up and take down the day after if there aren’t any events in that room. Many, however, want the draping taken down right after the wedding. What this means is, if your wedding lasts till midnight, there will be an after-hour fee of taking it down at that time. All of these factors contribute to the cost.

The fabric, draping style, and colors you choose can make the difference between a conference room and a romantic celebration.  We love to take before and after pictures to celebrate the beautiful transformation your choices created.
